Dr. Starks, CEO of StarkSpeak, LLC, purchased IdeaSpace in 2015 with the goal of offering onsite affordable continuing education training on ethics, DSM, telemental health and clinical practice. She attributes her decade of success to the Social Workers and other licensed professionals who regularly attend workshops and contribute their expertise during training discussions.
Karen Starks

Karen Starks, PhD, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and former Clinical Associate Professor at The University of Alabama School of Social Work. Over the past twenty-five years, Dr. Starks has held teaching positions at universities in Georgia and Alabama. Her areas of specialty are public policy, ethics, clinical practice and entrepreneurship. ​

She is the author of her self-published children’s book, “My Beautiful Brown Boy”, a true story of how she helped her four year old son affirm his ethnic identity.
